A mother from Colombia, South America, told me ... that "just two drops in
each ear" of fresh human milk relieved the pain and cured her ear infection.
I have just returned from Guatemala, where several Guatemaltecas told me that mother's milk put into the ear canal was the best treatment for anyone's ear infection, and that they typically put cloths soaked in mother's milk on people's chests for bronchial infections. I am not sure I believe it helps lung conditions when applied to the chest, but it is interesting that the public there seems to have more understanding and faith in breastmilk's immune properties than in my own community.
