subject: caries references
There is great information on Brian Palmer's website
http://www.brianpalmerdds.com about caries. He cites several recent
studies that show that human milk is not cariogenic, even if teeth are
soaked in it. It's generally the other carbohydrates in the milk that
lead to decay, or sometimes there is a congenital weakness of the enamel.
LLL also published a statement that caries occur in some children
despite breastfeeding, rather than because of it. You should be able to
find it at http://www.laleche.org
