I got a call from a mother yesterday whose 3 week old baby will not latch.
Has never latched properly. Can't seem to stay on the breast, with a very
weak suck. . Family doctor says there is nothing physically wrong with the
baby. She nursed her first two children with no problems. All three were
born by cesarean section.
Mother can't help but wonder if maybe baby wasn't ready to be born yet,
since her cesarean was scheduled 2 weeks early to accomodate the
obstetrician's vacation.
I can't help but wonder if the obstetrician is having a nice relaxing
vacation while this mother pumps her breasts every three hours around the
clock, and cries while she feeds it to her baby in a bottle.
