Kathleen,

I submitted the post entitled, "Toxic-Free Legacy Coalition Ad Campaign" on
behalf of the 4 organizations listed, the Toxic-Free Legacy Coalition, the
WA Toxics Coalition, the Breast Cancer Fund and WA Physicians for Social
Responsibility. However, I would be happy to respond to your questions.

I agree, there is no truth in advertising regarding the contamination of
formula. I would also like to see factual information about this. Of course
breastmilk is still more nutritious and beneficial than formula, not only
with the emotional benefits factored in as you state but with the factors
that protect against the illnesses caused by the contaminants. To be clear,
there is no doubt on any of the letter signers parts or from me, that
breastmilk is superior. In fact, that is the point. That's why
breastfeeding advocates and various environmental groups in WA have been
collaborating. We want to put an end to industry contaminating our bodies,
our babies and our breastmilk. I hope this addresses your confusion. I
welcome further conversation about this.

Breastfeeding Coalition of WA
