I have held off mentioning this,but felt now was the time. For those of you
unsure of the differences in pressures that can be obtained using different
pumps (and measuring using the same pressure gauge), see the table(s) in
Chapter 11 of Riordan and Auerbach. I won't tell you where the bruises
were from creating such suction, but I will admit that differnet pumps
create vastly differnet pressures and some--frankly--are too high. See for
yourselves.
PS the measurements were taken at least three times on each pump we had
access to to verify that the readings were stable and not subject to tester
exhaustion, pain, etc.
