For any medical device to be 'hospital grade' it must do the following:
1. be electrically designed so that it doesn't cause static
electricity or create a spark so that it could be used in the presence
of flammable anesthetics.
2. be capable of being sanitized between users so that there is
no chance of pathogens being transferred between users
3. have parts that can be sterilized so they can be used in a
sterile field.
4. consistently create the same cycles, pressures, whatever
they are supposed to do 100% of the time.
