My mum with the little hole in her non-healing nipple  ( see Lactnet 
about six weeks ago)  got limpet shells from Norway - and reports an 
excellent result : )

Rachel Myr mentioned these as a traditional remedy.

The mother stopped using Lansinoh and used the limpet shell instead 
and within a short time noticed an improvement which was sustained 
very well.

She is now pain-free for the first time.

No - I don't know why they would work, either : )
