Carol Schlef wrote about the ideas of Dr. Righard regarding epidurals and BF
behavior and wondered: "Has anyone seen any literature about this in the last
few years?"
Dr. Righard's most recent publication was an editorial in Birth 2001.
However, in the recent issue of Journal of Obstetric, Gynecologic & Neonatal
Nursing (JOGNN), 34, 335-341; 2005 there is an article by Sharon Radzyminski
entitled "Neurobehavioral Functioning and Breastfeeding Behavior in the
Newborn" In this study she compares the BF behavior of infants from both
medicated and non-medicated births.
