Hello everyone.
Can anyone direct me to articles/resources on breastfeeding statistics?
Specifically, I'm looking for numbers on breastfeeding and the economy. I've
seen terrific numbers on dollars saved on healthcare costs, staggering cost to
the U.S. government for formula for WIC, etc. But I'm hoping to find
information on dollars spent on nursing bras/transition wear, breastfeeding
accessories such as breast pads, breast salves, nursing pillows, etc. Also, any
interesting numbers on breastfeeding moms in the workforce, how lactation
programs counteract absenteeism, morale, etc. would be helpful.
Formula is well documented as an economic force in this country.
Breastfeeding, while not typically thought of as an industry, must be making its own
contributions to the economy.
Any leads would be greatly appreciated.
Best wishes.
