I wonder if amorphous hydrogel would help?  It is sold in a tube and is 
squeezed out onto a finger and applied onto the wound, or squeezed out 
directly onto the wound.  It's great for moist wound healing of deep 
tissues.  It can be found at online surgical supply companies.
