Melissa has asked about the breastfeeding legislation in Massachusetts. As a
representative of the Massachusetts Breastfeeding Coalition (MBC), I keep
tabs on this aspect of breastfeeding protection. There are currently 3 bills
that have been filed in Massachusetts: one House bill to protect breastfeeding
in public, one Senate bill to license the IBCLC, and one Senate bill that is a
combination of public breastfeeding protection and worksite protection of
breastfeeding. The bills have not yet been assigned a bill number nor referred
to committee, as the committee structure has been revised. If you want a copy
of the text of these bills let me know and I will provide them for you.
Also make sure to check out the MBC's new breastfeeding promotion campaign
materials on our website at _www.massbfc.org_ (http://www.massbfc.org) .
