I agree, Jennifer. The article seems to me to be a genuine, if
polemical, attempt to give a wake-up call. I don't get the impression
we are invited to think formula is better.
I think the photo is probably meant to be artistic, to be honest....I
don't think we can assume it is the author, either. I don't see the
name of the baby as 'Emanuelle' is a deliberate attempt to echo those
soft-porn Emanuelle movies of the 70s. It could just as easily echo
'Emanuel', the old Hebrew name meaning 'God is with us' which is used
in Christian hymns as well as in Old Testament prophesy. The photo
has ambiguities in it, even so, but I really don't think it should be
taken to undermine the article's essentially pro-bf, pro-woman,
pro-baby, anti-corporate stance.
But I may be entirely wrong.
