from Diane:
<<What are we to make of these old "so many units of
milk per unit of baby weight" charts now? When are
they useful for the breastfed or breastmilk-fed baby,
and when are they archaic?>>
Clearly they are already archaic!
I'm also uncomfortable with the increasing amounts of
the charts, particularly for the exclusively breastfed
or breastmilk-fed baby.
Are others comfortable with the amounts per weight in
the first month or so? Or not even then?
What should we be saying to mothers when asked? I'd
like to have some discussion on this.
