Stephanie Coontz teaches history and family studies at The Evergreen State
College in Olympia, Washington, and is the Director of Research and Public
Education for the Council on Contemporary Families, which she chaired from
2001-04.
She is the author of numerous books about families and has received awards
from the AAP for her "outstanding contributions to the field of child
development". she also received the 2001 "Friend of The family Award".
You would think someone that is a supposed "Friend of the Family" and has
worked in child development wouldn't make such a comment. It sounds to me
she needs some education about how mother's are glad to be able to help
their babies and be "allowed" to parent them at night. That it is
important for the babies health. It looks like she has the power to
influence many and that this is the person that we need to influence now.
Here is a web site about her and here is her email: [log in to unmask]

What I really find humorous is that she is an "expert" in history of the
family and yet doesn't realize that until just recently that families have
always slept together?!
