Regarding the food elimination, I have read here on Lactnet that in some
instances the mom needs to eliminate an offending food for longer to see
results, I think at least 2 weeks for dairy is one I have seen. In my
personal experience with my wheat-sensitive child, I did not see any
positive results for 8 weeks. I also did not know what the offending food
was before that time, so it felt very long and depriving! So maybe if
other causes are ruled-out and food is still suspected, she would consider a
longer elimination trial, or consider an allergy/sensitivity test to narrow
it down.
