Leanne,
Amen! We all know the joy of the mandatory bottle after every feed.
The concept of just supplementing until the milk comes in. And gee--why don't
breastfed babies measure up to those 1950 baby weight charts. Oy!
I have a chuckle. You know those little black and white designs
developed by Susan Ludington- Ho to stimulate baby brain/sight development? One of
my new mom's told me what a nurse told her in the hospital, and I just had to
crack up. One of them is just a circle with a black hole in the middle, and
this mother asked the nurse what it represented. The nurse told her that if
her nipple was larger than the circle in the middle--that she would be
unable to breastfeed. It is amazing what is out there.

So Debbie how do we get the peds and obs to understand the issues they
initiate by providing conflicting information? Will the docs in Florida
or US
ever get it?
