Since some of these are older infants - do you think that perhaps there is
more infant formula
rations, than food rations, so that moms are trying to utilize it as a food
source? Hopefully these moms are actually trying to work the system - ie
maybe they are still nursing (but claiming not too) so that they are gaining
the formula supply as an additional food source for their family???? One
can hope.
(This is what is suggested in the Infant Feeding Guidelines for
Emergencies - that the donated formula be used to feed others (the mothers
themselves, other older family members) rather than the young infants, isn't
it?)
