In the past month, there has been quite a contraversy here in Canada
regarding a mom breastfeeding in a rinkhouse in a City of Toronto park. A
volunteer/community leader asked her to cover up more or move. While the
City of Toronto has been clear in supporting the mom's right to breastfeed
anytime, anywhere and anyhow, in accordance with the Ontario Human's Right's
Code, the volunteer involved has refused to apologize and continues to
escalate things by posting editorials and correspondence on her community
association website.

This has now reached Canada's national newspaper, the Globe and Mail, today.
The article gives a good summary of events:

The bra-haha that went global

A mom nurses in public and discovers some folks don't think breast is always
best

Janice again. This incident and publicity has been interesting, as it has
focused discussion on the "anyhow" aspect of breastfeeding in public. This
volunteer not backing down, has really shown me and others how important it
is that we are clear and united in our defense of the "anyhow (any manner)
aspect of breastfeeding rights.

If anyone is really interested in reading more background and links to the
story, I can forward several summaries I have done for my yahoo group,
Breastfeeding Canada News.
