Dear Jennifer,

An LC that I respect very much once told me that you can start cutting off
the tip portion of the nipple shield gradually untill the baby gets used
to having the nipple in his mouth instead of the nipple shield.
I have never tried it. I'd love the hear the opinions of others on this
matter.
