>My OB manager told me that our whole hospital system (about 15 hospitals)
has been approached by Prolacta and is considering their services. They
want us to host a milk bank and in exchange will do all kinds of nice
things for us for example: Prolacta will help subsidize the cost of
hospital based lactation services. Provide ongoing staff training. All
equipment and supplies at no charge. Priority purchase rights for finished
products with no obligation to purchase(ummmmmmmmmmmmmmm).
Receive cash or product for donated milk (I don't know what that means? <
Star -
The last time I looked, donating human milk was considered to be the same as
donating other human organs, in as much as it is illegal to do so for
payment.
You might want to suggest that the hospital system ask their lawyers to
check into this very carefully.
There is NO free lunch!
