I have been contacted by an IBCLC in a smaller community in my area. She is
supporting a woman with 10-week old twins, breastfed.
She is suffering from Crohn's/Colitis and will undergo surgery soon. She is
wondering about the benefits of consuming her own milk and wants to know if
it has been tried before and what the results might have been.
I've done an archive search but can't find anything specific to a woman
taking her own milk, and I'm not sure that aspect matters.
I have found a couple of anecdotes about people taking breastmilk to ease
colitis.
Any thoughts or information I can pass on?

PS - the contact came along with a promise to raise awareness and perhaps
even launch a fundraiser for our efforts to launch a milk bank here.
Exciting.
