Let me tell you why I like the new Medela policy. I have a friend who bought a PIS Advanced Backpack off eBay a year ago. She purchased it for $220.00 that is only 33.00 dollars profit. It is like selling a Hummer at Hyundai prices.
I haven’t sold a PIS in my B&M store because they can always find them online cheaper. There are those who can buy a hundred PIS sell them for a minimal profit and make decent money. I however can only afford to purchase 3 at a time and I can’t afford or justify selling a top market product at wholesale prices.
I sell all my Medela products within 10% of MSRP. I should be able to sell my PIS within 20% of MSRP too.
I sell another product that has a minimum price requirement to protect their quality image. I think Medela has a right to dictate policy to protect their quality image also. I think this will even the playing field between rental/sale stations and online dealers.
