I can understand why we might not want to listen to the Mead Johnson Rep, but
I went to a swanky dinner and hear our head of Peds talk the studies and her
evidence based data all showed Breastfeeding best source of all nutrients.
Our rep really didn't have a problem with it...we listened her speak and since
we already had data that showed the product they were pushing was overkill, it
was very interesting. Also we have made a decision to go and see what they
push so we can counter market the docs, the nurses who still don't see a
difference and management, who now allow no formula to discharging babies who are
breastfed even though they say they will do "both." Baby steps....we are hanging
so much stuff promoting breastfeeding for all cultures that a few people said
"you are making non breastfeeders feel guilty!"
We the Breastfeeding taskforce retort: If the shoe fits....
Got to go to Taskforce meeting at 7:30 am got to get a moving..
Have a nice day!
