It seems like weight always gets questioned. We tell moms .5 to 1 oz/day is normal weight gain.
Interesting enough my 5 lb 9 oz daughter gained a pound a week for the
first five weeks (thereby almost doubling her birthweight at five weeks).- I was a little concerned
as this was not according to the "textbooks". She was not premature (born on her due date)
but my father had died suddenly three weeks before her birth and I did not eat well following his death.
We collectively agree she was "cartching up". My FP reassured me that her weight gain was fine.
Her weight gain then slowed down to 1 oz/day. It makes one wonder what would have happened
if she had not gained within the normal guidelines?
