Tanja -
It sounds like mom has been working very hard on solving her sore nipple
problem. There are a couple of things that you might want to consider.
First - This has been treated as yeast for nearly 2 months. It does not
seem to respond to yeast cures so perhaps it is not yeast. If not yeast,
consider poor latch or a bacterial infection.
Second - In spite of the fact that it is commonly recommended, I can find NO
research showing that Grapefruit Seed Extract has any effect on candida.
Third - in spite of being seen by an IBCLC, perhaps a return visit would be
in order. Sometimes there is something going on that might not be seen if
the LC were looking for yeast and not something else.
