Christine,
My fellow LC and I will teach mom's how to spoon feed some colostrum as needed. We use a plastic spoon from our pantry. We were cleaning with hot soapy water and rinsing well. We heard another LC speak at a conference and she stated she was sanitizing it in boiling water prior to use.

Our pumping moms are cleaning their pump parts in hot soapy water and rinsing well. We use a personal basin as a sink so as to keep everything out of the hospital room sink. If we are taking care of pump parts in this fashion, I thought handling the spoon the same way would be consistent.
