Just when I thought I had heard it all, along comes this one: A mother
of 15 month old twins (whom I have been counseling on and off for about
a year) called to talk about weaning, because she wants to have Lasik
eye surgery and the surgeon told her she had to have weaned the boys
completely for at least 6 weeks before surgery! This is supposed to be
because her prescription might change (Mom reports that it hasn't
changed in at least 5 years.) Does anyone know if this is true, or is it
just another case of sacrificing breastfeeding on the altar of
ignorance? I couldn't find any references in any of my books.
