I am looking for information/research to provide to the MD of a woman with PCOS who is experiencing a low supply. She is 7 days PP with her 3rd baby - planned c/sect, no delivery problems (excess bleeding, infection, etc.), baby has good latch and suck but is jaundiced, resolving with supplementation. She has nursed all 3 but experienced supply issues with each despite having tried additional pumping, frequent nursing, fenugreek and a SNS - she had to supplement with all 3 (formula and donated BM) and weaned earlier than she's wanted to due to the stress and difficulty she associated with BFing. I've found some anecdotal discussion about good results with metformin and domperidone for PCOS low supply but no actual research to present to a doctor. Can anyone provide links? ANy other advice for this woman?
Thank you,
Lynne Norder
