I have to chime in after the post about acupuncture for breast pain...
When we first opened (FOUR YEARS ago as of Feb 1st!!) I was prescribing a
fair amount of diflucan...sometimes it helped, and sometimes it did not. I
have gradually learned to recognize that a lot of these women actually have
vasospasm (visible or not) or neuralgia from chronic nipple damage...either
from latch or the yeast, or usually some of both. It is fascinating to me I
hardly use diflucan any more...I wish we had some research on this. There
are a few women each year that I can't seem to help no matter what I try, so
I will suggest acupuncture next time. We are fortunate to have an MD in
town who does some.
