Several years ago a wealthy NC family who supports breastfeeding donated
funds to set up and operate a LLLI Peer Counselor Program in a small developing
country. Perhaps he would like to funds some PC trainings for health depts in
certain population areas (intercity, rural, Native American etc), along with
some startup funds. And then he may want to contribute continuation funds over a
certain number of years ( 2-3 maybe). Or perhaps he would fund scholarship
programs for LLL applicants (especially struggling low income applicants) to
cover their initial costs of being certified as LLLI leaders. These programs
offers the additional advantage of LLLI being a non-profit organization and he
would gain the tax deductions of the contributions.
