Following is an announcement for a position available at CDC focusing on
breastfeeding.  Please follow the links included for further

The Maternal and Child Nutrition Branch of CDC is recruiting for a
Public Health Nutritionist to provide technical assistance,
consultation, and guidance to states and other organizations on
breastfeeding promotion and support programs and strategies.  The
position will involve planning and evaluating breastfeeding
interventions, developing polices to promote breastfeeding and utilizing
the Pediatric and Pregnancy Nutrition Surveillance Systems.  Additional
duties related to this position include working with public health
nutrition, physical activity, obesity prevention and treatment, and
related programs.

Applications must be completed online through the HHS Careers site
BEFORE midnight Eastern Time on the closing date of September 15, 2004.

There are three qualifications you must meet to apply:
        1.      U.S. Citizenship
        2.      A bachelor's or higher degree in dietetics, food,
nutrition, food service management, institutional management, or related
science.
        3.      At least one year of specialized experience related to
the work of this position equivalent to the GS-11 (for the GS-12
position) or the GS-12 (for the GS-13 position).  To be eligible for
this position, applicants with no previous Federal experience must
answer YES to the question "I have at least one (1) year of specialized
experience equivalent to the GS-11 or GS-12 and provide documentation in
their resume of the work that was performed that was equivalent to the
GS-11 or -12 level in the Federal service as described in the vacancy
announcement.
