Well, we can add surgical masks for breastfeeding mothers for the flu season
to our menagerie of breastfeeding aids...add a dash of color or cartoon
characters for our babies amusement.  Wear them out in public and no one dare
criticize you for nursing in public.  Gee, if breastfeeding mothers would just wash
their hands once in awhile maybe we wouldn't have to wear the masks??  This
all makes great theater, theater of the absurd...

But in all seriousness we do have a patent at the US patent office called
"Antigen carbohydrate compounds and their use in immunotherapy" with the
inventors being McKenzie, et al. from Australia (assignee is Austin Research
Institute--Australia).  This is about making a vaccine with the human milk component
HMFG (human milk fat globule).  It can be used against flu.  Breastfeeding is
mother nature's vaccination and now we have researchers and companies going to
make some money on this concept.
Valerie W. McClain, a breastfeeding advocate who survived the hong kong flu
in 1968 without the miracles of modern medicine--as did all of my family and
friends.

polymer in association with a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier.

Some other disease states which may be protected against in this manner
include, type I allergies, malaria, HIV, dental caries, flu, cholera, foot and
mouth disease, meningitis, Leishmania infection, whooping cough, rabies,
Streptococcus infection, respiratory infection, measles, Lyme disease, tuberculosis,
bacterial meningitis, shingles, rubella, hepatitis, herpes, hepatitis A, polio,
venereal disease/trachoma, hepatitis B, common cold, cervical cancer,
meningitis/pneumonitis, chicken pox, small pox, pneumonia/PUO."
