Dear friends,
Here's one for you...one of our OB educators came to me today asking what
I'd think of having one of the formula reps come (at their request) and give
a talk about how the nurses can help mothers to increase the longevity that
they breastfeed. The rep sited the 2010 goals as a reason for doing this
most wonderful inservice for us. She wanted to know what I thought about
this idea. I don't have to tell you all, do I??? Isn't it interesting that
in this time of the new ad campaign coming....out (not here in AZ yet) that
they would like to get their foot in the door on this one, (before the rest
of the state hears it from the Ad Council and DSHS). I had a bit of a sell
to say no to it. I don't think they will say 'yes' this 'offer'. Like I'm
not already working on this concept from another angle???? I suggested that
we put together an inservice about the same if we thought that we needed
that. I asked her what was in it for the company....'mmm' said, I asked
that too. It is that if they can get their logo in front of the nurse and
show them how to model the formula from their company, then the mother would
most likely choose that formula when they needed one. AHHH!!

These people have too much money and business sense and not enough ethics!!

Where is that Ad Council when you want them???? Who do I write to to
suggest that we are the next state that needs to see these???
