Don Satz:

>I noticed on the Chandos website that a new disc is being released of
>three symphonies from the pen of Robert Casadesus - nos. 1, 5, and 7.
>Not being at all familiar with his music, could anyone on the list give
>me an idea of his soundworld and style.

>From knowing some of his piano music I'd say that most likely his
symphonies will be Ravelian but with rather more use of modal harmonies.
I've not heard any of them, but have been quite struck in the piano music
by the French clarity, flowing, graceful style and apparent simplicity
that is nonetheless quite sophisticated.
