When I lived in NH a few years ago, a nursing mom was told she would be
placed under arrest for nursing in a Nashua mall. The security guard told
her she had to leave or be placed under arrest. There was a nurse in and
apologies that followed. I was surprised because NH is a pioneer state for
water births (hospital doesn't even have an anesthesiologist on staff), AND
I always founds lots of support for bf and natural parenting. I attended my
first LLL meeting in NH, and it was packed!
I nursed ALL the time in both the Manchester and Nashua malls when I lived
there, and although I got a few leering looks on occasion, I never was told
to cover-up or leave. The only time I felt uncomfortable there was nursing
in a Unitarian Church! You would have thought I was doing a strip tease on
the pews by the reactions I got.
Peace,
Joi
