Hello Lactnetters,
I will be doing some breastfeeding support/and teaching on an Indian
Reserve and I wondered if anyone had any tips or pointers for being
culturally senstive? The group is one with a combination of feeding
methods, so I don't want to alienate those who are ABM feeding, yet
hopefully get them thinking about it for a next child. I am planning a
game with the 'Breastfeeding Myths' from Jack Newman. I have found in
general that these women don't offer alot unless specifically asked about
something.
Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
sincerely,
Kerri Zandberg, RN, BScN, IBCLC, LLLL
