It is not healthy to be
drinking a sugary liquid so often at night. This baby needs to be weaned
off the night feeds.
Dear Friends:
As the mother is away for long hours during the day, at work,
breastfeeding at night serves an important psychological and immunulogical function for
this baby. Sudden weaning at night would be the last thing I would suggest.
I am more curious about the high carbohydrate intake during the day. I
am also curious about the family situation, activity level, and genetics.
Perhaps a medical workup is indicated to see what is truly going on inside this
toddler?
It is best to make recommendations based on as much information as
possible, including a thorough work-up of the baby, instead of automatically
discounting breastfeeding as a source of the problem.
