<<hink that you are on the right track to have her see a derm/ she may

I have a few friends who've been through this and it's been awful. One
of them was long term committed to nursing and did with both kids for 4
years.....however, during that time, she couldn't have intercourse b/c
it was too painful. Her ob said her vaginal tissue was like that of a
postmenopausal woman and that there were two solutions:
1)steroids
2)stop breastfeeding
even the return of her cycle didn't help.....and when she stopped
nursing at 4 and 4.5 y pp, the problem cleared completely. Since then
I've had a couple other friends/clients who've experienced that degree
of dryness and tissue pain.
No amount or type of lubricant helped in any of these few people.
I can't help but wonder though if foods with estrogenic properties might
be of benefit. While i'm not a big fan of soy, it may be that a couple
of servings of soy and/or using ground flax seeds could contribute
enough of the weak/good estrogens to bring hormone levels closer to
balance for said individual.
Nina Shandler has an interesting book on using soy/flax as estrogen
alternatives in peri menopause and menopause. It's well documented and
is called Estrogen The Natural Way (i think. should look it up but am
off onto other things:)
