While we're on the toxicity of D....does anyone happen to know offhand
the tolerable upper intake limit (UL)?

it's *1000 IU* for infants up to 12 mo of age

and 2000 IU for children, adults and pregnant and lactating women.

We will see very very soon that the current RDI is so off the market
that it's frightening.

testing d levels can insure that D status is adequate - not to high, not
too low. and sun exposure or supplementation can be used accordingly to
insure optimum levels. not adequate, but optimum. the US and Canada
use differing units for measuring D levels. in the US, likely optimal
levels are 40-50 if using supplements, and 45-55 if using sun. not the
20 of lab norm minimums.
