Hi all
Thank you for your replies to my question re the safety of Combivir while
breastfeeding. It appears that the Zidovidine is can be given to infants
and the Lamivudine has a short half life. According to one of the
pharmacists, "longest half life is 7 hours between the 2 and this certainly
gives enough time for clearance of what little drug reaches the milk". The
mother did not wait the 48 hours before resuming breastfeeding. She is
nursing her little guy and happy to be back at it.

It is really great to have all of you as a reference.

Sincerely

Christine
