Anyone out there familiar with these type of drugs for chronic hypertension?
I worked hard with this mom to get her 4 pound premie nursing and now I
hear back from her a month later with baby doing really well, gaining weight,
nursing frequently, etc. but mom's hypertension is relentless and dangerous.
She is going to doctor today who wants to put her back on Diovan which is an
L4 in Hale and she says she will wean abruptly rather than expose baby to
this. I have encouraged her to dialogue with local neonatologist who is very
supportive of bfeeding and can usually come up with alternative drugs to
maintain bfeeding, but she is reluctant to speak with him. Any experience with
these type of drugs in bfeeding moms? Thanks, Ann
