I thought the following from today's Medscape would be of interest to those
who work with teen moms:

NEW YORK (Reuters Health) Jul 16 - Results of a study published in the July
issue of the Archives of Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine suggest that
adolescent mothers who had breastfed have greater bone mineral density
(BMD) during young adulthood, than those who had not. ... These findings,
they conclude, "confirm that lactation is not detrimental to the bone
health of adolescents and may be protective."

Julia
