Hello,
I posted a message in september about a baby who has a Pierre Robin
sequence. The mother pumped very frequently and the baby has been fed with
her milk almost exclusively and at the end by fingerfeeding.
The baby, 8 month age, was operated on for the cleft palate (at the end of
November) and the mother is now allowed to try feedings at the breast.
The baby is no longer able to swallow (she swallowed correctly before the
surgery, fingerfeeding was very useful for her learning) and she arches when
the milk is ejected in her mouth.
The baby turns nervous when fingerfeeding, she bites the mother's finger !
The mother tries breastfeeding early in the morning when the baby is no well
awaken.
What could you suggest to this mother to help her to breastfeed, she has
been waiting for this moment for 8 months and il is still so difficult !
Thanks for all ideas
Daničle
