RE: "On Breastfeeding, Rights, and Good Manners"

This Fox News article's footer says "Wendy McElroy is the editor of
ifeminists.com and a research fellow for The Independent Institute in
Oakland, Calif. She is the author and editor of many books and articles,
including the new book, "Liberty for Women: Freedom and Feminism in the 21st
Century" (Ivan R. Dee/Independent Institute, 2002). She lives with her
husband in Canada."
In Canada, a mother and baby have a right to breastfeed anywhere they are
otherwise allowed to be. The Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms
guarantees this right, and provincial Human Rights Commissions have enforced
this right. Furthermore, Health Canada's campaign "Anytime, Anywhere" has
been in place for several years. One TV Public Service Announcements
specifically shows a mother and baby breastfeeding in a restaurant, with the
caption: "What's wrong with this picture? Absolutely nothing." Babies have a
right to eat in restaurants, and parks, just like adults do. For more
