Dear Rachel,
The first approach for treatment of GERD is small frequent feeds. So I
would not agree with weaning off any feeds at this time until the baby is ready.
Has this mother tried placing the baby prone after feeds? When you say she
is now co-sleeping what position is the baby? Does she place her baby on her
chest after feedings?
Placing a baby in a car seat after a feeding will squeeze the full stomach
and that is why it is not recommended to place a baby in this position for at
least 20 minutes after a feeding.
How has the baby's growth been?
Hope this is some help. Let us know.
