Dear all,

did somebody out there ever care for a mother without pituary gland?

The pituary gland was removed due to a tumor a couple of years ago. Since that time mother is substituted with some hormons. She became pregnant after a hormonal therapy and delivered twins (boy and girl) at 34+5 weeks of gestation last Monday. The babys are doing fine and the mother started pumping immediately but is only yielding a few drops. The amount is not increasing.

The doctor who performed the surgery told her that she is the first patient he ever had that managed to become pregnant and have children after that kind of surgery he has ever seen. He feels that breastfeeding will not be possible.

Thanks in advance for any idea or suggestion.
