I'd like to offer another approach to nausea and vomiting during pregnancy.
Instead of Reglan, try ginger tea or diffusing ginger pure therapeutic
grade essential oil. Ginger essential oil can also just be inhaled from
the bottle. The Chinese have done a lot of research on the use of ginger
during pregnancy. A recent ACOG Practice Bulletin even states "It may be
helpful." (Obstet Gynecol 2004;103; 803-15). We use aromatherapy in our
Birth Center at RMH. I cannot stress enough the importance of using 100%
pure therapeutic grade essential oils when using essential oils for healing
purposes. It is also important to use a diffuser that spins the scent into
the air using a fan, never heat that can change the chemistry of the oil.
Diffuse only about 10 - 15 min. at a time. When using essential oils, less
is better.
