Sadly, the Academy of Breastfeeding Medicine still restricts its
conference attendence. Those who are not MD or" granted" membership are
unable to attend the first few days of the conference. You may attend the
final 2 days as a Health Team member but not the earlier sessions...

Most of the speakers are the same and many of the topics are the same. The
"level" of information is the same. The decision to restrict attendance to
physicians for the first part of the meeting was made (and is re-evaluated each
year by the Board) because physicians are, in general, in need of MORE
education regarding breastfeeding than lactation consultants and are embarrassed to
ask questions or make comments in front of all of you. The Health Care Team
Meeting this year again promises to be excellent. See the program at
www.bfmed.org.
