Amy,

I am fascinated that mothers in Singapore put their breastmilk in Milo. I
would have never believed it, and they do it to make breastmilk more palatable??
The world is a fascinating place.

That doesn't negate the essence of what I am saying. If you go to the
website I posted previously, Nestle's Milo has been fortified with Actigen E.
Actigen Ltd is a company that makes human antibodies. Actigen is called Protein L.
I suspect that Protein L is simply lactoferrin made in a yeast culture with a
vector (some bacteria).

I never said that the Breastfeeding Mothers' Support Group had links to
Nestle. We all have very little control of how writers will write articles for the
media. Thus this particular writer made an interesting choice in her writing
this article. Is Milo the only food that mother's put their breastmilk into
for their older children? Why be so specific about a brand of drink? And I
believe it is the only product that is specifically mentioned in this article.

I am sure Nestle would be quite happy to use any breastfeeding group in order
to promote their product. Was the article written to support
breastfeeding??? Or was the ultimate aim a testing of the waters? Certainly the
breastfeeding community can continue to ignore the situation of patenting of human milk
components and its implications. And, I will continue to point out the
products that are resulting from this patenting and commercialization of human milk
components.
