My youngest has a lovely scar where a frenectomy (a bit more involved than a
simple frenotomy) was done - he nursed much better with the scar than
without. In addition - if we had pushed the pedi NOT to wait instead of
believeing her when she said it would stretch (when he was 6 weeks old), he
would have had a simple frenotomy to the tune of a hundred bucks or so -
instead of a frenectomy requiring general anethesia and all the costs
associated with surgery at 5 mos of age. The bill for that totaled well over
3000.00, insurance covered some of it but it still cost us a lot more than
it would have out of pocket!
I let parents know that it costs more if they wait!
